I want to make a bigger swim platform this winter for the boat. It will be 8 feet wide by 36 inches long. From the center of the platform to the edge it will drop 1/8th of an inch in 4 feet. I want this for water drainage. I'm going to use west system epoxy to seal the 3/4 inch plywood. I'll be using 2 peices of 3/4 plywood glued together. I can a temp frame to hold the platform in place. If i just fiberglass the top section first. When i remove the clamps will it retain the slight curve yet?

I would get a strip of wood about 1/2" tall and about an inch thick and run it along the middle of the platform, then get two or three 2x4s and clamp them to the ends of the platform so the first sheet has the bow that you want then glue and screw the second sheet to this one with the bow in it. The two sheets of plywood will then hold that slope. May want to exaggerate the bow so when it is unclamped it holds about the bow you want. Not sure why you want the bow though, the minute you move the boat any water on this surface will be gone. And it should sit just out of the water when the boat is stopped. Either way you are not going to have much standing water on the platform anyway.

How are you going to hang a 3' platform off the back of your boat? Thats a lot of stress on the transom.

I'm planning on putting on composite deck boards for the top. And i was going to run the deck boards port to starboard but i guess i could run them bow to stern. supporting it isn't a problem. I've enclosed a pic from a guy that built his out of starboard. They make them that big for my boat. But the company wants almost 1300 for it
