My Suzuki 60 hp 4 stroke outboard builds up oil after about 10 hours of running. Oil appears milky. I took a sample and let it sit for a year. The color stayed the same and there was no separation of water and oil. Everyone I know with a Suzuki or Yamaha 4 stroke outboard has the same problem. Any ideas?

Re: Suzuki 4 stroke oil buildup

I had the problem with a merc 4-stroke 115. Repropped with a lower pitch to achieve upper recommended WOT RPM and problem resolved. My current Yamaha does not do it, but I repropped it when new. Also if your trolling a lot you might "blow it out" a bit on the way back to the dock.

Re: Suzuki 4 stroke oil buildup

I have a DF200 and recently it started "making oil". Went through thermostat check, compression, air leak, etc... how can the prop or fuel pump come into play.. I was told that on teh df200 there is no fuel pump that could have a leaking diaphram.. is that true? I did have prop work done recently about the same time problem started. How can that impact?

Also all fuel injectors were tested - no leaking.
