While winterizing my 90 hp evinrude (ficht), the engine sputtered a bit and I went to shut it down, but it would not stop after I had turned off the ignition and pulled the key out. While the engine was still running, I put the key back in and turned it and the warning light sequence came back just fine. After trying to shut it down with the key a few times it still didn't shut down. I unhooked the fuel line and let it run out (very surprisingly, it ran for just over 33 minutes without a fuel line hooked up).
Any ideas on where the problem may be?
thanks

To much fogging oil.or bad key switch.

Won't be the fogging oil but somewhere the kill circuit isn't connected any longer. Could be the switch or a wire or a connection.

It's not really surprising about it running that long, think about how much fuel is in the VST, lines etc. After all those things are pretty good on fuel....
