Wonder why only the COLD screen is clogged?

I suspect the particate in the HOT line settles out in the bottom of the hot water heater. (Never confirmed that though.)

Thats usually why. You know you are supposed to drain hot water heaters once a year right??? And check the annode every few years. How many people here don't know that their water heaters have sacrificial annodes just like their boats ???

SUCCESS!

Here's the coldwater-only flow after cleaning the screen and backflushing per bruceb58. I didn't remove the screen, just cleaned it from the inlet side and then backflushed with the hot water on the warm setting.
