Re: You guys have any hot rods or race cars
I currently have...
1957 Chevy Belair 4 door....
I got in high school from my father...I rebuilt the 283cu in V8 into a screaming small block that I still own...10:1 compression that used to see 8,000rpm on a daily basis...the little peanut motor twisted the frame on the belair to the point only 3 jack stands would touch...lol 2 front and one rear...I got that thing to pull the wheel 4 inches on a launch with that little more and a 4,000rpm converter...
1957 chevy belair 2dr sedan
I got this car from a buddy and it is actually in good shape...it is an ex-racer and it's been sitting 10 yearsand lord know how long before I got it...needs stripped and redone...paint is all cracked...
2 1980 Kawasaki kz650 4 cylinder motorcycles
I got one right out of high school and drove it for years..repainted it 80 quazar blue and bought another from a friend...mine has had an electronic ignition conversion and a Vance and Hines header and I have done all the work myself...other bike looks stock and has a left side Bell header and cams...both are quick...I have beat many kz750s with ease...
1987 chevy monte carlo
this car currently has the 283 from the belair..but is getting a nice little mean and nasty 708hp 340cu in small block...I have been working one this engine for a few years (kids) and I finally got the short block together last year...next are the heads...I changed my mind last year and decided to go with some cnc aluminum heads...it started as a 327cu in and I had the crank offset ground and that put the stroke close to the 350 engine...came in at over 13:1 compression and a wicked nasty cam...
1989 chevy astro van
bought this for a V8 conversion...started it but havent touched it in a year or so...got a new crate motor sitting there tempting me...
1988 GM 1500 truck extended cab long bed
this truck was given to me by my father-in-law as he was just going to scrap it...it needed a tune up and brakes...I wanted the truck because it was a Texas truck with no rust...no dents and in good shape..no rust at all...so he drove it from Texas to Indy and I drove to indy to get it...I tuned it up and did the brakes...he drove the 1000 miles with the right rear brake only...the truck has 340,000miles on the odometer...and ran great...very strong and dont smoke...I tore off the exhaust and added Headman header and duals and some minor mods...the truck is pretty quick and gets 24mpg...
I had to quit driving the truck as the tranny went out after a 75foot burn out that smoked the neighborhood...lol It revved a little too high and I think it ate a valve seal...so I parked it...
thats all I am going to admit to for now...
