Just a timing chain cover, sep from the block.more than likely NLA ,but if you decide to use a car cover you will have to changeover to FWC (A/F)

What is the NLA means?

No Longer Available.

Just went through the same thing with my motor: water in the oil and it was a fresh rebuild. Turns out to be a cracked block. Once you start troubleshooting the guys here will help you track it down. Hopefully you're not in the same boots as me.

A compression test will tell you if your cylinders will hold pressure (compression). If you have low compression, could still be several things, cracked block, cracked cylinder wall, cracked head, blown head gasket, cracked or blown piston, spark plug not properly seated, or cracked plug, bad valve seats, bent valve, etc. The list goes on, but it does narrow the search...

Re: water in the oil pan help!!!

Just keep in mind that the key to the compression test is knowing how to interpret the results. On my motor, on the offending bank (cylinders 1,3,5,7) the compression was 150-160 on 3,5,7 but over 200 on cylinder 1. That was because water sitting on top of the piston made the compression chamber smaller leading to higher compression.

Only way to get further is run the test and report the numbers.
