Looking for parts on this engine, or a blown engine. There are several models around the year of 1979-80 which are similar. They can be identified by the two black ignition coils located next to the spark plugs.

My location is Yuba City, California

have you tried craigslist or ebay?Unless some one here has one hidden out that they want to part with, that's going to be your best bet. One other thing you might try is to type in sea king boat motor parts on line [google]to see if any parts suppliers pop up. Hope this helps. MOPARMAN ..................ROLL TIDE

Yes. I have spent hours each week doing all of what you suggest before I post my questions on these forums. There is little or no supported hardware suppliers except for common substituted items with a (HIGH PROFIT) turn over.

This forum was my last remaining hope to locate an engine for original parts before I just waited it out on Craigslist....

I did locate and buy($150) a low hours pristine 15 Hp Chrysler as a result of constant searching for a 7.5 Hp.

Also, a running 7.5 Hp WAS located in another state but seller won't make the effort or enquiries to ship FedEx. He just wants cash handed to him while he is sinking down on his massive natural cushion..... so typical now-a-days.

Yes!!! They are an outstanding motor in design & craftsmanship. They are "sleeper's" because of the difficulty in locating small parts and it prevents running them until they wear out, so owners just sell them cheap rather than chase small things for months/years.

The really big problem is the original CDI ignitions are nearly impossible to find and difficult to repair or troubleshoot. Aftermarkets can be found but are they ever pricey!!!

The 15 hp. is just as nice mechanically and the electric is back to basic with magneto and breakers which is far easier to service at home.

I lack only spare CDI's and the throttle gearing assy in the tiller to engine parts. A spare prop would be nice when I come across one.

Where are you located?
