Came back from a job over in Nakusp BC late yesterday. As I left the ferry at 4.30pm the snow was coming down, you know the stuff, white and slushy, anyways as I climbed up the hill it got deeper and deeper, the person in front of me in a little car must not have had winter tires on as they were doing about 50 km max. I sure am glad that I put on a set of winter deeps on the bucket truck as its about 22000 pounds empty and I was pulling a cable trailer that is about 4500 pounds empty.
when I hit the summit there was this tandem dump truck pulling a empty tridem equipment trailer, he was chaining up (up to a 8% grade over 20km) , so you know the roads were not good at all. made it into Revelstoke BC, were there was still grass showing.
Headed west towards home, 1.5 hours max, until my marker lights on the truck and trailer die, could hear the relay in the fuse panel clicken in and out great dead short, almost dark, no place to pull off as the road is once again all snowed up.
so with no choice its 4 ways going till I got home
I hate winter
