Definitely like the bigger console-personally glad you chose to go with it. It gives it more of an off-shore look (if you know what I mean).
A t-top would definitely give off a very nice look!
Sounds like you have great ideas!

NB..I do like the bigger console but it also needs to serve you well on the water. If you can maneuver around it and not compromise fishin space go for it. You know best on how it will be used.

Thanks for all of your opinions guys! That's why I bounce stuff around here. I located the T Top today and I'm in the process of making the deal.

Here's what I'm dealing with right now:D

Good call on the choice!
But is bigger better... in snowfall amounts?. Some of you folks have been hit over 't' top in amounts of frozen water droplets this year. We got about 6 inches over the last day or so, actually been pretty easy this year in that dept.

The snow wouldn't be so bad here if folks knew how to deal with it. Way too much traffic and way too few machines to accomplish road clearing. The state and most localities had already blew their snow removal budget for the year before the last two storms hit.

When this happens in VA the smart folks stay home.

Hey, when I lived up in that area the rule was "see a snowflake, go home... see two snowflakes, abandon your car on the beltway!" :D

HaHa! I work in DC and I travel about 85 miles one way. I don't take that trip when they forecast snow. Not worth it!

NB, I like the replacement console. You look like you have plenty of room to fish and as long as you can get around it with no problem put it in! I had a Suzuki 60hp and 140hp. I loved both those motors and believe you will too. I even won a few bass tournys with the 140 on the back of the boat and Susuki gave me $1000. additional for each tourny one! If you ever need advice or need to work on yours try Phil at Friday's Marine east of West Point. Good guy and knows his stuff. I think Suzuki sponsors some salt water tournys too. Life isn't fair, you have no time to work on your boat and I do, just no garage. You keep on scoreing parts and soon you will be busy installing them though. Can't wait to see more. Dale

I ordered a snowblower. It will be here Tuesday. Sounds like I may even have to use it :( Keep in mind I do not WANT a snowblower but this winter has killed me. Fortunately my boat is in the garage. Going out to work on it now actually.

Re: 89 Starcraft Mariner 210 CC Rebuild

Thanks for the assist Blaster. I don't know how many hours I've spent cruisin that guy's website:)
OK, we?re finally getting ramped up here to make something happen.

We got T shirt weather here today and the snow is still melting. Threre?s at least a foot and a half of snow still in the boat so I figured I?d start on the console. This console was purchased from a guy down in Tappahanock, VA. It came from a 2006 (I think) Sea Hunt Triton 207 that blew off of the dock lift during a big Noreaster last year. The boat was totaled and I gave I think a hundred bucks for the console. Here?s what it looked like before we started.

Mariner10-1.jpg

We stripped the entire console so we can make some minor repairs, add a new windshield and some grab bars, and outfit it with basically left over stuff from the Liquid Limo build. Here?s a couple shots of it pretty much stripped.

The front seat was originally a live well but since I?m pretty much a fly guy I?ll have no need for that so it will serve as a storage bin. The guy still had the seat covers so we?ll be dropping them off at the upholstery guy to get them recovered. I can?t have that big Sea Hunt logo on my Starcraft Fishin Machine!

Also we still have to come up with that replacement door.

Here?s a shot of the dash plate. We?re gonna use it as a template for some stainless steel sheet stock we had left over from a recent kitchen job. We?ll probably re-use these switches if we can. I?m trying to esnipe some old school hi tek lookin gauges on ebay and if I win them I?ll post up some pics.

Mariner13-1.jpg

Here?s a pile of stuff we salvaged from the console that we?ll try and re-use if possible. Main battery cables, steering wheel, etc. I haven?t decided if we?re gonna use the dual binnacle I bought off of ebay or just make this nice single Yamaha work with the Suzuki.

That?s all I have for now. More snow forecasted for tonight, and remember, we plan to go a little slower with this build than the last one. The Admiral likes it when I actually do my job and get paid instead of just living out in the boat shop!!!!

Re: 89 Starcraft Mariner 210 CC Rebuild

Well we were at what the weatherman called Ground Zero so over a week we got right at 41 inches. Yesterday I was in town and they were still trucking the stuff out of parking lots:(

We're just not set up for that much snow in this area!
