Volvo Penta no start

A friend of mine has a Volvo Penta 4.3L (engine model 4.3 GXI V6). It has no fuel psi. I am guessing that the fuel pump has died. When I hot wire the fuel pump it would not run but also I have no power to the fuel pump connector.
Witch leads me to question number 2. Does the fuel pump just run on key voltage or does it run through a relay/oil psi switch like on a chev car. The boat is a 2003 Champion Explorer. If any one has a wiring diagram for this boat/motor it would be gladly appreciated.

Get either the Full model number (4.3GXi ??) or the serial number of the engine. There are manuals to download, just hard to say which ones without the numbers. Year of the boat doesn't help much.

I see that I did not mention that it was fuel injected maulty port. Basically a 4.3L chev v6. I will see if I can get an engine serial number or more of the model number. Also it does run if I put fuel down the intake.

Thanks

That Xi in the GXi indicates it was fuel injected. GL or GS would have indicated carbed engine.

I got what I think is the rest of the numbers we are looking for.

Model 4.3GXI-B
-3869132
-4012075371
These numbers were on a tag on the alternator bracket.

As you can tell I am not familiar with this engine but like a good problem solve every now and then.

He went out found the fuse were I would have never thought to look and presto it started right up. Now the question is what caused the fuse to pop in the first place.
