Starcraft Jupiter HIN issue.

I have been given a Starcraft Jupiter Boat by my father-in-law. I can not find a HIN plate on the boat anywhere. IF anyone knows of locations where I can find the plate at. I have been told by a few shops that the boat could hold a 100hp but insurance company wants to know what the HIN plate says as the max horsepower. Currently it has a 90hp honda on it and I dont want to go any bigger but they will not insure it untill I find the plate and show them.

I also do not know the year of the boat or any information beyond that it is a Starcraft Jupiter. I know that from the badges on the side of the boat and the plastic badge on the dash infront of the passengers seat.

Hinissue welcome to iboats ( and once we see the Starcraft The Starcraft Club ) . I own a 1970 Starcraft Jupiter myself and the plate is on the port ( right ) side of the boat as your facing the dash it should be down near the controls . The Jupiters were rated for 85 HP but I dont think 90HP would be a major issue on it .

I have seen some brain surgeons mount the controls right over the plate.... you might want to peak behind the controls.

If you can't find it there may be an alternative. Mine was missing (or never there) from my 64 Jet and Mississippi issued a HIN for it. Took the form of a sticky back label that had to be placed at the top starboard outside of the stern.

Post a picture of the topside and the stern and I may be able to at least tell you what year it is.

My '66 had the plate mounted on the transom and was rated for 85HP.
