The only alarm on your model is for an overheat condition. If the thermostats and waterpump are good, it is likely that your water passage deflectors need to be replaced.

When you had the thermostat housing apart, did you check/clear the pinhole(s) in the thermostat valve body? If these pinholes plug up, the engine can overheat. These pinholes let hot water get to the back of thermostat to heat it up so that they will open. It is not unusual for them to clog up with sand and other lake debris.

The crossflow V4 engines have four water deflectors in the water passages around the cylinders that direct the flow of cooling water. Over time they degrade and need replacement. It is necessary to remove the cylinder heads to inspect them.

The valve body (H on the second diagram below) has small holes near the bottom center that need to be kept open. They are sometimes obstructed when replacing the gaskets, or by the gasket sealant.

does i-boats have these water passage deflectors? if so i was unable to locate them u wouldent happen to know the part # plus gaskets and such to complete the replacement/ inspection? the bottom holes the diagram refers to as (H) were clear of any obstructions
