2007 Four Winns cracked fiberglass need repair opinions....

Hi everyone I recently purchased this 2007 Four Winns and am looking to either repair it myself (might be to hard to make it look good) or just bring it it.

I am looking for all opinions and also what people think this will cost to get it fixed if I just took that route.

My Guesstimate would be $2000 to $4000 but that is a pure guess. It is likely that the windshield will have to be replaced. That can be $$$ by itself. If you paid a very good price, it is worth repairing. But now that you own it, that consideration is moo. (cow language for irrelevant) If you are going to have it done at a shop I would gather several estimates and get recommendations from the BBB. You may also get a recommendation for a good repair shop from ABYC. Not sure about that though, I do my own work.
If you decide to do it yourself your greatest expense will be time. The most money you will spend will be in the windshield.

There are several lines and curves in that fiberglass repair. To do it yourself without experience would be difficult. I'm just saying... not trying to discourage. It's just more art than science.

But you might talk to a fibeglass man that get's it ready to spray, and finish it out yourself. So you get the experience where you need it and do some of it yourself. That could save you quite a bit.

You also might also get lucky and find the windshield used. Talk to dealers. You never know?

I would just learn how to do it myself. If you can find out how to do fiberglass work, or if you know a buddy that knows how, that would be the best route. A fiberglass shop will overcharge, but they will make it look good. If it were me, just learn how to do it yourself, save alot of money. Good luck!

Straighten window frame, have a shop cut some "plexiglas" to size, fit it. Repair yourself using tips from people here at iBoats.

Like $150 max

If it were me I would attempt it, just because I enjoy that kind of stuff. If I messed it up I would take it to the shop and say my buddy sold me this boat and said "he" tried to fix it and he failed.

Hello compman723,
Along with most of the other post, I would do it myself. The folks on here can answer most of the question you would have.
If that thing hit a dock or went under a dock it hit hard. It looks to me like the dock fell on it.
