A couple a weeks ago there was a posting about Volvo u-joint crosses being made in Singapore and many post stated that they have never seen crosses marked with made in Singapore.

While getting ready for our annual inventroy of the parts, I found both Volvo and Mercrusiers crosses that were made in Singapore. The only place the "Made in Singapore" was on the packaging.

Another interesting thing, MSRP on cross range from under $ 30.00 (Made in China) to $58 Merc ( Made in Sinapore) to Over $130 (Made in Sweden).

I think you got exactly what you ordered. The original equipment item merc orders from there.Nothing is made here anymore. Merc,Barr,Osco, Basic Power, Sierra, .Name one, all our parts come from overseas.

Ayuh,... Nobody can afford American made parts anymore,... Not that there's many left to buy...

For 1 thing the Companies are all headed Overseas, because the Unions want unsustainable retirements, healthcare,+ Cadilac wages while they're workin' at no brainer assembley jobs...

I hear ya on that! When I was young I worked at a non union aircraft assembly plant. Most things were hand fitted requiring an artistic "touch" lots of back breaking work. My reward for this labor intensive occupation? $8.50 an hour. Our UAW buddies were making $18 an hr to assemble cars in much better conditions. I guess my point is, you dont need to get rich performing menial tasks. Unions have a place, making sure you dont work 30 hr days and get paid O/T when required but $18.00 an hour to assemble cars and light trucks? I work for an airline now, our pilots, flight waitresses, mechanics, parts people, planners etc etc are all union. THEY run the company, they are why you cant afford a plane ticket. I've had more than one mechanic tell me he doesn't have to do a job, its not in the contract and pilots say they are being asked to "do too much". What happened to get 'er done???
I guess the Chineese and Indians understand it!
