Thank you John but not familiar with "stock LU and also the manual is from where and is it a clymer. I was also told that it might be the same as XR2? Thank you very much for reply.
Mag II is an XR4, 2.4l engine. Right out of the crate they make about 162 horses. With a little trimmin of the heads, some good fuel, discarding the advance module and retiming it, 175 @ 6000 rpm is pretty easy to get.
The stock lower unit on either a XR2 or and XR4 uses the same prop as a 4 cylinder engine. A standard V6 lower unit using the bigger prop will bolt right up. Sometimes they got changed out.
The little LU is a real screamer on a performance boat, but it will sometimes put the pinion out the side if you surface a 3 blade prop. I surface a 5 blade and tear the lake up with no trouble. Be sure to run High Performance LU lubricant in it.
