My 2004 Yamaha 150 2 stroke wont start. I have little to no spark. I will soon start testing the ignition system per manual. Would love some advice or to talk with someone about my problem.

Re: Yamaha wont start

Just like all motors it needs compression, fuel, and good spark at the right time to start and run.
The manual will be your best friend for checking the motor electrical. Use a methodical way of trouble shooting just like you would a car and it should be fairly simple to find what is wrong.
Low battery voltage and slow spinning will effect the spark

don't forget basics like tighten down the battery connections.
BUT
Be careful tightening the engine electrical connections; I was going through mine (2003 150) and with just a slight bump with a socket wrench, broke off a stud. Previous guy had over-tightened.
