This Friday marks the second anniversary of the passing of the iboats legend Lester Wright aka SpinnerBait Nut.

After joining in '09 while searching posts, I often ran across SBN. I soon noticed that he had not posted in almost a year. After doing a little research I found out why.

For those who joined post-SBN he was a moderator but under his screen name it did not say moderator, it said "A true iboats friend". He posted 17,574 times in his six years here.
He was not just a legend but maybe one of the reason's that this forum exist's as we see it today. All the page's of tribute's to him brought tears to my eyes. He was truly a unique and special person. This site is not the same without him I'm sure.

Just to give you an idea of who he was here, dockside chat became a thread in his honor for five days. Everything else on dockside was moved.
If you never knew him click on the links and meet a "true iboats friend".

WE ARE NOT TRULY DEAD UNTIL THE LAST PERSON WHO KNEW US IS GONE.

Thanks, Swabber, and you are right, Spinner was/is a legend. A heart as big as all Kentucky, great sense of humor, and an all around good guy. He is missed!:(

Lester is a real world legend....... he was our man. I still get fairly choked up at his loss but, Lester keeps an eye on us here on iboats. We have our own private angel watching over us. When things go wrong it is very often mentioned among the moderators "what would Lester do?"

Please take a moment to remember our friend and all of the friends we all have lost so close to this Thanksgiving Season. I am thankful for the path Lester left us to follow and the knowledge he is still guiding us. I miss him:(

I would tell you that Lester would be wishing all of us a Happy Thanksgiving.

Thank you Deck Swabber 58 for bringing this to the attention of the forum.

I am proud to present Lester's signature.

Yes, he was a special friend, and I understand an amazing husband and father. I also think about him almost every day. He talked publicly and privately with so many of us and he made this place a lot of fun. His is a very hard act to follow, but it is worth trying to . . .

I also think about him and agree, it only seems like yesterday. I hope his family is doing well.

When you get to respect someone before you get to know them or them know you as in my case to me its says about as much a person can say about another person.. A great guy
