Re: Prop# Question

It is a Mercury part #, 19 pitch prop. Merc props are pretty standard, so it will fit a number of Merc engines.

I could have lived with the pitch in a pinch but did not fit the shaft. I only kept it in the boat in case somebody else could have used it and I did have a replacement for mine on board.

Could you recheck the Number on the prop from what you posted?
The number you gave will not pull up in the merc system it keeps coming up Invalid Item any way I run the number, I just want to make sure I am trying the right number.:) Thank's

To be honest with you I can not remember myself if the newer black max props would fit a older style prop shaft like you have or not, I don't think I have ever tried it myself, I know they have done different spline counts, And tapered ends I believe, ect, Over the years to the prop shaft, But I do not know about your's, Sorry about that maybe somebody eles will see this and help out. Good luck with it.

Ayuh,... If Boat Tech's research is Right,... Then You're Wrong....

The Propshafts of Mercruisers are the Same from the early 60s to present...
Matter of fact, the props will interchange with All of the standard single propped Outdrives,+ the Large gearcase Outboards...
Even the 4" mid-sized gearcases use the Same sized propshaft...
Just the outer barrel of the prop body is a different size..

I could be but it will not go on the shaft something is not right with it and it looks like it is brand new. I will check it of this weekend maybe the splines are galled up on the inside and need a little filing. If a prop will not go on smooth and easy I never force them Thanks for the replys.... P.S. all other props I have had for it always slip right on.
