Re: Leave Tiger Woods alone

He hit a fire hydrant, where I live all fire hydrants are on public streets, if this is the same in Florida then he should have to talk to the police just like you and I would, drivers license and registration, other then that you do not have to give anymore info.

Like some have said, he is a high profile person and is a target of the media.

He has a long driveway, it is said that his speed had to be under 35 MPH, air bags did not go off, crashes vehicle off of property, wife has golf club in hand at scene claims using it to rescue Tiger. He has cuts and bumps. How many of you are golfers? How many wife's would be carrying a golf club at two in the morning? Have been in two car accidents this year going less then 35, no cuts, no scracthes, never even had to show drivers license or registration, go figure. I did talk to police.
It's already a fact that his wife was attacking him.

This community where he lives, is private. Private roads and probabl private water as well. Very common, actually, and not just in Florida.

This thread is NOT leaving Tiger Woods alone. It has turned into a gossip rag.

No, there is no rule against gossip. It is just not a friendly way to treat anyone.

He doesn't 'have to' give a statement according to the Constitution. This is just a distraction from the stuff that is actually important to us all.

I don't think Tiger would give a hoot what was been said on this thread.... Of all the opinions across the country about this Tiger thing, I'll bet what's been said here would be viewed as being pretty bland.

What makes me curious, is why the Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash in a gated, private community ... as in, not a state road.

I don't blame Woods for not talking to them. He has no obligation to do so and there isn't any advantage to him in doing so. If I had his money, those Troopers would be talking to about 17 of my attorneys, not me.

What Jay said. He bashed his own vehicle into his own tree (not a hydrant) on his own property so why should he be asked anything by law enforcement. If he wanted to, he could have backed up and bashed it again, while the police were there(if it ran.)

That's because the private community has jurisdiction issues. It's not part of any town, and they have their own security force. For some reason the Sheriff's Office has ceded to the FHP. Not sure why they did that?

Re: Leave Tiger Woods alone

Well ladies and gents, I have a different take on this. Let?s turn the situation around and say that Tiger's wife was operating the vehicle and he came to her "rescue". She had cuts on her face that were not consistent with the crash. Everybody from here to high heaven would be killing Tiger for this and police involvement would be 10X what it is now.

But let?s get back to reality and not the hypothetical. The facts are that he crashed into a tree and a fire plug at 2:00 am coming from his driveway which is pretty long and away from the home. How did his wife even know he was in a crash? a neighbor called 911, not her. What was she doing with a golf club in her hand at the time? Who knows. Now the police could get a warrant to read the "black box" in his vehicle to see how fast he was going at the time of the crash, if he were wearing his seatbelt, if he were accelerating or braking at the time of the crash. All of these factors would play into my suspicions that this was a domestic situation that turned into a crash and not just a crash. Now the police are responsible for conducting an investigation for domestic violence, but as my hypothetical stated earlier, people?s attitudes are different for female on male domestic violence.

It doesn't matter what, when, how. Even if his wife was trying to tee off his balls (pun intended):D It's their private matters. Hey, the Patriots lost AGAIN.

Re: Leave Tiger Woods alone

911 was called, cops were requested. they're obligated to some point.

i've seen people messing around pretending to call 911 and accidentally/stupidly really dial the number. the police will respond. i don't know their policies per se, but i think they have to come out and take a look. (i'm sure it some of it depends on local policy or whatever). if there was anything going down, the police can't take the anonymous word of someone that everything's okie dokie.

anyway, back to this situation. if this is something the police would normally pursue, and i think it is, then the golfer shouldn't get any preferential treatment. from the sounds of the cancelled meetings, it appears that he's already getting treated differently.

ya gotta take the good with the bad when you live in the spotlight.

See what I mean, if Mr. Woods caved Mrs. Woods face in, most would be singing a different tune.

Domestic violence is mostly kept private, and victims do not cooperate with authorties until it is too late, when someone is killed or beaten severely.

Re: Leave Tiger Woods alone

C&P from another site.

* Tiger Woods is so rich that he owns lots of expensive cars... And now he has a hole in one!

* What's the difference between a car and a golf ball? Tiger can drive a ball 400 yards...

* Tiger Woods wasn't seriously injured in the crash, but he's still below par...

* What were Tiger Woods and his wife doing out at 2:30 in the morning? They went clubbing!

* Tiger Woods crashed into a fire hydrant and a tree. Why? He couldn?t decide between a wood or an iron...

* Perhaps Tiger should have used a driver?

* This is the first time Tiger?s ever failed to drive 300 yards...

* Apparently, the only person who can beat Tiger Woods with a golf club... is his wife!

* Tiger

Just a question even if he was on private property, there was an injury and property damage wouldn't the police have to respond regardless? Because of the injury a report would have to be made out due to being an automobile accident.

May be he has talked with the police and no one is being public about it.

Re: Leave Tiger Woods alone

I hope the local cops are also on the job and enforcing all of the parking laws considering I saw several dozen media trucks parked near Tigers home. This just shows we cant trust the media . When they found out there really wasnt a story they could force out of anyone they made up ideas of what might have happined and those storys became the so called news...shame shame
