hey all,
I'm greener than the grass in springtime, and trying to convert my old suzi tiller to remote.
I have the shift connection all set, I just can't figure out how exactly the cables connect to the box. I mean I can connect the cable and make it shift, but once I shift it into forward the handle cant sway forward any further, and I think thats what I need to pull the throttle.
Should shift or throttle be top or bottom? please help!
Thanks!
Rich

To determine which cable does what, connect both of them to the control box but leave them disconnected at the engine. Now move the throttle/shift lever forward out of the neutral position while watching the far end of the cable. Move the lever only to the point where you would be shifting from neutral to forward. The first cable to move is then the shift cable. As you move the lever farther forward the other cable should begin to move. That then is the throttle cable. But all of this is for naught if the control box you have has reversed throws. Some engines require throttle pull to go faster and some require throttle push to go faster. Some control boxes also do not have enough throw for proper operation so you need to make sure the box you have is compatible with the engine.
