Here's some pics of my 'ebay boat'.

So far, everything has been better than expected. Trailer ran perfectly for the 700 mile trip...oh, I had the shop replace a signal light before I left.

Remember this is a $2900 boat.

A few more...

How do I put them directing into my thread and not as a thumbnail?

Thumbnail size is standard. Big pigs hog too much space. Don't think you can do that.

Boat/trailer look very well bought. If she runs well, that is a nice l'il package.

Hang out here. I have been boating since 1977 (when I was 10) and learn something new here everyday.

Thanks Philster....I've been 'hangin' out for a few months....a bit addicted to reading on this site to be honest.

Now, I have a greater purpose to read spacifically about this engine and outdrive through the winter. :)

Hey and thanks for the call on Tuesday...very cool. Hope your daughter(?) is feeling better.

My fingers will be crossed for 5 months. I'll do a video and share the anxiety of the maiden voyage. :D The naysayers can point their fingers and have lots of ammo for "I told you so" OR we can enjoy a great boating video...we'll see.

Very nice (and cool) looking boat! I especially like the seating with the rear bench...and the color scheme.

Grab the wet suit and have some fun.

Happy boating! ;)

Thanks Guys...actually the weather was bad between Minneapolis and Winnipeg. 20+ mph winds and icey.

Slick enough that my wheel broke from the pavement at 60mph at one point. Scary stuff.

The salt shakers were out in the morning and by noon the roads were slushy and icey...watch those bridges!!

My boat is dirty....

Oh, but that border crossing duty free bottle of Cognac helped my nerves a bit. (when I got home of course)

That previous owner had one heck of an awesome upholsterer friend. That is one beautiful interior!

I was super impressed....thrilled with the interior.

It's -10C outside and I don't have a realistic facility to run it. I'm new to i/o's and intimidated to do something wrong at this temp and risk ruining this engine. Will just have to sit on my hands for the winter.

Nice boat Paul, good deal. Good to see the trend continues on us Canucks heading down across the line to get some deals!!
Now, if you are using it in Manitoba....did it come with a mosquito net instead of a bimini?:D:D:D (I just had to throw that in!!)
BP:)

Nice boat for $2900... wow. Glastron? Year?

I'd be trekking 700 miles for that deal too...

Love the Glastrons, my first boat was a 74 Glastron, green with the same lines..

I did some homework into what was involved in bringing an older boat from the USA into Canada, and eventually gave up when I couldn't find the answers. Was there a website or something to help you figure it out? Canada Customs didn't give me much help

Re: First boat...pics added.

Thanks a lot!

Oceansbreeze....bringing a boat is easy....well, there are some factors, most of which is the age.

I was at the border approximately 1/2 hour. What I had was:
1. original title for boat
2. bill of sale for boat
3. separate bill of sale for trailer (you get taxed differently for these)

That's it...you pay gst/pst...and that's what customs is mostly concerned about.

Now, licencing and registering is different.

No worries on the boat...insurance goes on your home property.

The trailer:
If its more than 15 years old, you need nothing....no problem.

If it newer than 15 years old, you go to the VIN program where you pay $212 for an inspection to ensure it meets Canadian code. I'm not sure of the other factors with the VIN program as mine was older than 15 years so i didn't research this much.

I got my best information from my insurance broker who had a "importing to Canada" pamphlet.

I wouldn't hesitate to go south and buy again.

Great boat, with cool lines! It's gonna fly with the 4.3!
