Hi all, is the engine alarm usually in the controls or behind the dash. I'm soon going to be fitting out a 'new' hull and I need to know where I should find such a thing. Also, I may need to purchase one what kind of thing should I be looking for?

Cheers :)

It can be either place. If you can, turn the key on, then ground the wire going to the temp sensor in the head. That will make it sound.

If its gonna be a NEW installation with a new harness, usually tha buzzer will be attached to tha harness at tha dash end if its a Merc/Mariner. Should be a little round thingy with two wires (purple, tan), wrapped in a net lookin' sack. Unless its some of tha newer Opti stuff.

If its already in tha boat do like "bhile" says ta find it...............
