I have a 1987 tiller steer pull start Evinrude 25hp outboard on my duck boat. Over the summer I had some trouble with it and took it to a mechanic to have some work done. He broke more than he fixed it seems and I think one of the things he broke is what is giving me so much trouble now. On the top of the carb there is (or was) a brass nipple that attaches to a hose that runs to the choke/primer assembly. I think this allows for a little shot of gas behind the carb to aid in starting. Anyway he broke it off and just kinda rigged a bigger piece of hose over the broken part and it keeps falling off. I have had a very hard time getting this engine to start when it is cold and think this is why. My question is can you buy a replacement for this nipple. I have looked at the exploded view on the OMC website and it does not show it as a part you can order. If you can't get it does anybody have any ideas of a way to fix it.
Thanks in advance for your help.
