Awoke to 8 inches of heavy wet snow. Then it drizzled most of the day. When it got later, the drizzle turned to icing for an hour, forming a crust on everything. Then it turned back to rain, heavy rain, and we had quite the thunderstorm for an hour accompanied by 1 inch hail. Up here during winter thunderstorms the lightning is distinctly blue, it's neat. Now it's flurrying out. All in the course of 18 hours.

Yeah, gotta love the changing conditions. In WI near Lake Michigan ( where I live) the saying goes - You dont like the weather, wait a few minutes....

We went from 34* , blowing snow / rain/sleet/hail ( scramble the order around every hour) to frigid temps overnight. Some areas around here got 17 inches. We got 3 , plus an inch or so of rain as well... Down to 2* this morning, boy am I glad the power came back on so I do not have to fire up the generator.

Thundersnow is the best part of these systems. Very pretty to watch the sky light up in blue or green:D

I love the weather of New England with it's four seasons and just 2 1/2 hrs. away from ski country and all that snow. Here on Cape Ann we had no snow, conditions were right, northeast winds off the warmer ocean kept the temperture in the 40's. We will get whacked with a good ole nor' easter.
