Recently have experienced trouble getting the engine to fire when it is 30degress or colder. Starts right away rest of the year. Today I set the throttle 3/4 open (in neutral) and turned it over with the key (choke) pushed in and held. It fired after 5 seconds of cranking, ran for about two seconds at high rpm, then quit before I could re-choke it to keep it alive. Then it just cranks and cranks with no firing, no matter what choke or throttle setting I try. This happend last winter also, and I finally got it started by taking the plugs out and turning it over to clear it out. Suggestions?

Does sound like flooding.
Is it O.K. at higher temperatures ??

I have not had any starting issues at higher temps.

If I am flooding it, what should I do differently in the way of choke and throttle? thanks-----hwb
