Hi, I am new to this forum. I have been having a problem with gas spitting out of the front of the carb on my 70 Force at idle. Reading other posts, I have found this to be fairly common. Hoping I can get pointed in the right direction as to remedy this problem. The motor seems to be running fine. In fact not a problem with it in the 14 years I've owned it. Would doing the "Decarbonization" resolve the problem or is a carb rebuild in my future? Or is it something entirely different. Any help would be appreciated!

Sounds like it may be running too rich? Maybe needle valve in the carb is leaking and needs to be replaced. Carburetor float may be set too high.

Also could be the fuel enrichment solenoid stuck open. To test, take a pair of pliers and pinch off the small 1/8 inch fuel line that is attached to the bottom of the carburetor fuel bowl. You could also unplug the end of this small hose that is attached to the fuel enrichment solenoid and take a small screw and plug the hose so no gas leaks out. If this is the problem, it might take a minute or two for the motor to clear out any excess fuel in the lines before it starts to run right. I would try this test first before tearing into the carb.
