I have a 1998 Johnson 130 with S.L.O.W. on an 18-foot center console.
Had a short circuit in the ignition harness at the solenoid yellow-red wire (at least).
I jumped the yellow-red wire and now the engine fires on one bank only.
Could the short have blow out all of the components, rectifier, pp, stator, and timer base?
Any encouragement will help.
I have a troubleshoot-repair task ahead of me big time.
I have a DVA meter on order. Will the ignition have to be turned on to make all the readings?
Also, I am trying to tie down the part number for the harness (from switch to motor), if I find the short at mid harness, and do not have a good handle on it yet.
