What do you mean? Does the low side pressure keep building up or what??

YEP, all regulators have some sort of diaphragm. Unless it's a high quality piece,
I would be surprised if you could find parts for it. But you never know, worth a
shot I suppose.
By chance is it made in C***a?

Hope it's not Craftsman. Tried to replace a part on a cutting torch once,
after multiple attempts with a "nice" lady pointing at pictures, who had no
clue what a cutting torch was, I gave up.

Still have that old torch though.

The local gas distibutor/ weld shop will probably be able to point you in the right direction. Our regulators were rebuilt @ 6 years ago. I've never taken one apart but I understand the process is " delicate ".
I am curious about what you mean by popping off though,...are the threads stripped?:(

No, what seems to be happening is the vent port on the side of the regulator blows after awhile.

Re: oxygen tank for torch keeps popping

Don't play around with that. There's enough pressure in an oxygen tank to do serious damage. When I was in the Navy, on a tender in Charleston, I saw an idiot do down the gangplank with an unsecured oxygen 288 on a wheeler. When he got to the bottom, the tank jumped off the cart, and the end of the gangway knocked the valve off.

It went across pier papa, through a couple of feet of reinforced concrete, and stuck into the side of a destroyer like an arrow in a target. If it hadn't encountered the concrete first, it would have gone clean through the can.

Regulators can be rebuilt if the parts are available and they are a quality regulator like "Victor". However, they must be reconditioned by a competent repair facility. Two that come to mind are Air Gas and Gases Plus. We have both here in Casper, WY and I believe they are a nation wide company. Links to both:

Well it got fixed, I guess over time the seat under the diaphram wears there fore will not hold the preasure, and does a blow out through a port.
they cleaned it up nice, installed 2 new gauges, works great, $70.91

Thanks for letting everyone know what the problem was. The way your thread was titled was leading some of us to think it was a problem w/ the tank.

Glad to hear it was an easy fix.:)
Did you only do the Oxygen, or include the Acetylene for preventative maintanence?
