Humming bird depth finder alarm problem

Hi, new to this forum, hope this works. I have a 2005 Ebbtide recently purchased and it seems as if the in-dash Hummingbird depth finder is causing an engine mounted depth alarm to sound once the boat gets up to about 30 mph. I believe I have all the depth alarms set to off. Can anyone advise if they have had a similar problem and where I might start to look for a fix. The Hummingbird unit is a HDR 610 P.

Thanks!

Does the alarm sound with the Humminbird unit turned off?

An engine-mounted depth alarm? Nope.

I am nearly 100% positive the alarm you are hearing has nothing to do with the 610 P sounder. You need to make sure it is not an overtemp alarm or bilge high-water alarm. Maybe see a marina.

I have not found out how to shut it off, just change the depth alarm setting. If you can tell me how it shuts off I will try that first to eliminate the unit it's self.
Thanks

The depth alarm is not mounted on the engine but it looks like the alarm is? I will have to check further but it sure sounds like the alarm is coming from the rear mounted one. Just purchased it so have not had much time to test (20 min water time in Florida where it came from) unfortunatly at home here in Canada the lakes are covered with a foot of ice! Just wondering if anyone has had similar problems so I knew where to start looking.
Thanks..

I have not found out how to shut it off,

Ayuh,... Pull the Fuse, or disconnect the Power wire...

Re: Humming bird depth finder alarm problem

Thank you for the suggestions. I will wait until it warms up a bit and have a look at the bilge and engine systems. The float was off the bilge pump when I purchased it so that might be the issue. I will check again in spring if I can't seem to fix it.
