Well I think it's time we get the houseboats going online here. There are thousands and the engines will be compatible with what we deal with here. We need user manuals and wiring manuals.

Come on people, this could really be a "one stop shop" if we so desire...

Thanks

Just what, exactly, do you want changed, Jim? There is nothing preventing houseboat owners from posting their questions or buying their parts and supplies from iboats.

User and Wiring instructions are supplied by the makers of the products, not by iboats.

I am trying to not be offended by your "Come on people,. . . .". Please explain.

I would like to see the boat manufactures listed, thats all. I just bought a 42 Gibson and cant anything about the wiring schematics, As we all know that a diagram is worth its weight in gold.. on offense taken...

Re: Houseboats

Click on over to the manufacturers section and "suggest" Gibson, I'll bet it shows up pretty quickly.

As for diagrams, that may be a little harder - someone has to have them, before they can share them. I just have doubts about them just floating around out there. Perhaps, you could contact Gibson directly, explain what you are looking for, then you would have them to share with the community. They might be willing provide material for thier older boats, just don't expect much, if anything, on newer models.

Re: Houseboats

Thanks for all the help... I was rummaging thru the boat yesterday and found all the manuals including repair manuals for engine a/c and onan generator. Lucky me happy days.

I would be more than happy to help anyone else out their who needs info for a Gibson 1979 42' with twin Chryslers...

Please be careful about "sharing" copyrighted material. People here are (slowly) learning that copying a manual or a page, etc. from copyrighted material in order to avoid purchase of that document is a federal crime.

...but sharing information that you have learned from the book IS legal ;)

Just remember, the most important part of any restoration project, is the pictures....

Glad you found the books onboard.
