Sweet ride! I'm restoring my dad's '68 F100 at the moment. Same colors as the one posted, Lunar green and Wimbledon white. Here's a link to a site that helped me immensely over the last few years:

If i had more time, I'd definitely devote it to buying and selling trucks, but I cant quit my day job!! LOL
Also I was on that Ford board when I had my F250 Supercab, some great info... Thanks

Good idea...you guys can have the Fords...but send me the Chevys and GMC's!!!
I have a 66' Chevy (Custom Cab/Red on white) we bought and brought back from Florida 15 years ago...still love it.
BP:)

yup my 1st when I was 16 was a 64, 1/2 ton, 283 2 bbl(burned and leaked like a sieve), for $585, slip and slide, with no brakes or radio - loved it! And second one 2-3 yrs ago 66, same powertrain but in wonderful shape!

..by the way nice pic of that '64...pretty much identical to my '66 all around.
Now the one you just found....Ford or GM? what engine is in it? 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton? Either way that vintage of truck ('71) was a great time for the industry. Lots of nice advances were in the trucks like disc brakes, dual braking system, decent standard options like ps, pb, etc.:)
Did you buy it?
BP:)
ps: here is one of my 'other' trucks (wow...I have got to clean house with this hobby or get a bigger driveway). The truck is a '72 Cheyenne Super (former Arizona truck)...very solid and highly optioned but with very thin, original paint.

Nice Chevy, I had a 64 and 66, 283, 2bbl, PG. The one I saw was a 71 Ford, 352 w/ 4 speed, low mi on reblt motor and tranny, I think 1/2 ton? Im still holding off, to get all bills paid off first! grrrr ... :)
Whats your Chevy have in it?

The great thing about those trucks is that they are so maintenance friendly and easy to work on....and built like frikkin tanks, much to their benefit. :)
As for my 66', it has a 250-6 cylinder in it (w/ 3 on the tree) and the '72 has a 350 in it. I put Pertronix electronic ignition in both vehicles to move them into the 20th century away from those horrendous points ignitions.
Keep us posted on the hunt!!! those are solid choices!;)

If you are going for an original equipped truck, the 352 was not offered in 1971. It was replaced by the 360. 352 crank(3.5 stroke), 390 pistons(4.05 bore). Anyway, great selection to pick from. I wouldn't toss any of them out of the driveway.

Enjoy

tell me about it, so easy to work on, never replaced a differential, drum brakes last forever, great cooling systems, and I agree, Ive went to Pertronix as well to get away from those old cranky damn points! LOL
So what kinda mpg outta the inline 6? Those motors are torquey as all get out, wonderfully balanced and last forever.
Oh my bad, the Ford I saw was a 67, 352, 4 speed. Id like disc brakes if i can find one with em :)
Should be debt free in 2 months then house hunting, still I think i can get a decent truck of that era, be it Ford or Chevy for around $1000.
