Need Fuel tank for 1977 Datsun 280ZX, 6 cylinder, 2.8 liter.

Hello again to everyone,
My dad tasked me, since he doesn't have a home computer, to find him a fuel tank for a 1977 Datsun 280ZX, 6 cylinder, 2.8 liter. Does anyone know or where he can find one really dirt cheap becuase he just brough this car and he likes to tinker with things and found out that the fuel tank is very rusty inside and he doesn't think he will be able to get the rust out and the car not run right. Let me know because I saw one on the internet for almost $400.00 which is more than he paid for the car. Thank you, Bob

My brother and his son just restored the same car and had the same rust problem. You might try taking the tank to a radiator shop and have them take a crack at cleaning/boiling it out.

Thank you. I just called my father and told him this and he will call the local radiator shop in town and see if they will do that are not. Hopefully they will work on fuel tanks since there a radiator shop. Thanks greatly for your help. V/r, Bob

They make kits that will clean and seal tanks. Here's an example of one.
