I picked this boat up yesterday. The guy had it listed on cl for $200 and I couldn't turn it down. The good news is that the hull and interior are overall in great shape. For being 35 years old it is still a pretty sporty boat. The bad news is the engine turns but doesn't fire and the trim pump runs but doesn't bring it up/down and last I was told the reverse doesn't work even when running. The previous own said he used it for the time he had it without the trim and reverse. Said he just dropped it manually and only used forward. Doesn't seem ideal but it is a small boat and doesn't seem like it would be that big a deal. The boat also came with the usuall extrras such as a set of new oars, ropes, vests etc. The owner also included a NEW battery and a NEW spare prop. The part that sweetened the deal is the new prop, battery and three full tanks of gas all ready stabilized. He included a receipt from a very legit marina showing that everything was properly winterized this year. Said he had it done even though the boat wasn't running. Buying this boat will kill two birds with one stone being that I have a 70's Glasstron with the exact same outboard needing a new prop and a spare tank. So basically the new prop and tank are things I would of ended up buying anyways. The way I see it I got the whole deal for what I would of paid for the tank and prop alone. Will get pics in a bit.

Sweet! Looks like you got a good deal there man, you could part it out and easily get your money back. I see a lot of deals like this on my CL, just wish I had the extra $$ to buy some!

Looks like great value for the money spent.
Give the motor a health check
Compression
Spark
Fuel delivery
Spark plug condition

If you intend to run it then change out and inspect the lower unit oil and give the water pump a service including new impeller.
Investigate why no reverse. Could be as simple as a linkage or could be lower unit issues.
Good Luck.

One more thing, you should re size these photos a little smaller to keep the page width down.

Welcome aboard.

He hasn't been on forum in 6 years. You would be better off starting a new thread and tell us what information you're looking for.
