I'm having some great luck lately. I go to try and remove the lower unit
on my v135 and the bolt that holds the trim tab is rounded off. I tried
grounding a 12mm 6 point a little then driving it on but that didn't work
it just rounded off more. O yea I slipped once when trying to hammer the
socket on and broke a large section of my anitventilation plate off. I
thoroughly soaked the bolt with penetrating lube and plan to hit it with
a map torch tomorrow if that doesn't work. Anybody got any other ideas?
I'm pretty disheartened between this motor and the 90hp that blew a
piston last week.

Drill a series of holes around the center of the trim tab and break it out using a SMALL chisel.

They have special sockets that are made for rounded bolts/nuts. I believe I have seen them in the Sears tool catalog.

Thanks for the ideas guys, the hole was too small to use my bolt/nut
extractors. I went to sears for those special sockets but all they had
were the complete sets @ $64.00 so I passed. I heated the trim tab
with my mapp torch and drove a 12mm socket on the 1/2'' bolt and
luckily got the bolt out.
