I need some help with 1999 mecury 225. I am thinking about purchasing a used bass boat with 225 for a fairly good price but is in need of repairs The owner states that the motor has a bad sensor and that it will run fine with the engine cover off but when on the motor acts as if its being choked and stalls also states that on the water it will take off but will not plane till you transfer weight usually a person to the front of boat. My first question to him was the compression must be off since I have had first hand knowledge of a similar situation. He said that motor has 125 psi on all cylinders and I may check cold,hot or both. the motor is fuel injected I can get a deal but at what cost thanks for any help
