I can't find a parts book, diagram, etc...for this anywhere. I need to cross-reference parts from this motor. If you want to spend some time helping me out, I'll be happy to pay for the time. Just send me an IM.

looked at that book last night when I finally posted, but that's something like a 92 model and this is an 88. I sell outboard parts for a living, and want to ebay it but I have no problem cross-referencing OMC, Mercury, or Force parts. This Tohatsu has been, thus far, pretty tough to deal with. Still working at it.

Parts for that model engine are no longer available so I would ditch it. The parts manual at the link covers your model in that it was for the model with the updated piston and rings. Everything else was identical.

Re: 1988 Tohatsu model M50 C parts

Thank you for the suggestion, Tohasu Guru. I am ditching it, actually. I bought it blown and parted it for ebay. Generally speaking, though, I tear down a motor and cross-reference it when I list it on ebay, in order to help people know that it will fit and it helps my sales too, obviously. With this Tohatsu, I was having a lot of problems with the cross-reference, but what you said actually helps a lot and I'll try and see what I can glean from that manual. I appreciate the info.
