Hello,

I'm looking at a 2000 wellcraft 210 fisherman with a 150hp Merc, 200 hrs on the original motor.

I'm concerned that 150hp is at the bottom of the acceptable range for this boat and may be under powered. Usage will be 75% fishing 25% skiing wake boarding.

Will this boat tow a skiier or wake border with 4 others on board?

Thank you in advance,
Tom

What's the max rated HP for the hull?

Hmmmmm, it is often said on here that you need at least 70% of the rated HP for acceptable performace. You are below that. I don't think you'd be happy with it with only a 150 on it especially for skiing with others on board.

Boat is rated at 225Hp, I was looking at the wrong year. So it's close to the 70% number (157hp).

I have a 2000 Fisherman 210 with a Johnson 200hp 2-stroke and it pushes it very well. It will run 45-47mph top speed with two people on it with no chop. Crusies at 30-32mph at about 4K rpms. I would take it for a test run, thats the only way you can really tell if the boat it going to perform how you want it to. Good Luck !

The Wellcraft literature for that boat lists the dry weight with a 135 hp motor so they must have sold alot with that size on it....although your dry weight is more than my V-20 they are generally the same size boat and the 150 is a good match for it. It would probably be nice to have a little more but I dont know if I would call it "underpowered".
