What year is my 9.8???

I have just received my grandfather's 9.8 Merc and need to find out the year. The serial # is 7177184. I think it is mid 80's. Thanks for your help!!!

This is a link to a chart that should help out. Looks like it may be a late edition of the '85 9.8hp...not sure.

I am putting it on a 10' Sea Bo inflateable. It will be used as a dive boat. Thanks for your help.
