I would like to paint my boat white (it is currently white). I don't have the money to get it done professionally or use the right type of paint. I have an electric sprayer. Can you please tell me what type of paint to use? Should I use plastic paint? And what type of clear protective coating? Can you please tell me what process I should use to paint it?

Re: Painting a boat

Boy are you in the right place! This is a huge subject here and there are tons of posts on the subject. ezemobee recommends a great product and there are others that fall in to the same category. I assume when you first thought of painting your boat you considered a sprayed automotive process as the best or only way to do it. Wrong my friend! Forget the idea that there is no way to get a smooth finish using a roller and a brush. Petit, Interlux, Rustoleum, Awlgrip and others all make products that will yield smooth shiney awesome paint jobs. All of which are designed to be applied using a roller and a brush. There are videos available inline that show the process and the results. Google! You can also do some searches in here for tons of resources.

I recommend Interlux paints. I have used them and they work.

yep I?m showing it off again, folks.

Two coats of Interlux Perfection, rolled on and tipped with a brush.
