Yea, I'm willing to bet that somewhere, someone has maybe changed the cowling, but then again, someone could have scratched away the center line from the "8" to make it look like a 10


I think the 10hp and 18hp of the late 50's, like the clam shell type will interchange with each other, but I don't know about the 1960 motors. Those had the fiberglass hoods and were a totally different cowling. Up till 1958, the 18 and the 10 pretty much were the same, except for the powerhead. Both had the same lower units and engine covers. In 1959, the 10's had a smaller lower unit.
