Well went to go look at a 50hp on this 16 foot alum duranautic and the guy never told me about what had happend to the skeg and proppeller..He had hit a rock stump etc..something hard. shredded his first prop and torn his skeg a bit. he had to get the lower unit rebuild... 1100$ compression is good, pumps water nice, idles nice etc.. wondering if this is OK to buy, does the leg need to be fixed..etc... thanks for your inputs! BTW trailer wasnt in the greatest cond either..

The skeg is there mostly to protect the prop, people that break them off rarely notice any difference unless its bent badly.

You can have it fixed, or even buy a bolt on unit, you can most likely buy one right here from iboats, if I had time to look I would have attached a link for you.

No big deal, the price is pretty sweet too.

okay, thanks guys. also idk if u can see in the pic, the prop is kinda beat up. i can get one of those too. wondering if its normal (i dont think so) to leak a very little amount of milky oil out the exhaust thru the prop?

Yup, probably unburnt oil, pretty normal. As long as the prop is straight you should be fine, the props can be chewed up and still be ok, my 90 has a pretty chewed up prop but you'd never know it.

milky oil,(milkshake) says there is water in the lower unit, probably prop seal bad, or bent prop shaft. the trailer in that condition has no value.

The prop is rebuildable ... I would get a welded on skeg. You'd be amazed at the junk props which can come out looking new after a good rebuilder gets done. The trailer is in pretty delicate shape. I certainly wouldn't go very fast or far.
