I used Easypoxy on my aluminum hull project and I can't say enough good things about it.

If you are only doing the stripe, then you could get away with using Rustoleum Marine topside paint for something "cheap" if it comes in the color you want.

I've heard good things about other paints, but it depends on what you are willing to spend on the paint ( though, if just the stripe, the cost should be minimal regardless of brand ).

Thanks,

On the better paints should I apply it with a roller/brush and tip or what ?
Also what is the best tape to use ?
Thanks for your help.

The green tape!!!!!

I rolled mine and there was no need to tipping. It laid down great.

Re: Changing the Glastron "stripe"

The purple tape is good too, but the green tape is generally preferred as it has the least amount of bleed through on the edges.

roll and tip, roll, or spray...whatever you are comfortable with. If you have a gun to use, then use it if you know how to use it properly ( right sized tips, air pressure, etc ). Otherwise, use one of the other methods typically used for boat painting. The better the quality of paint, the better it will flow and level for you. Also, make sure you buy paint that is as fresh as possible. If it has dust on the top of the can, stay away from it unless you are painting something just to get paint on it.

Roller and tip worked great for me !! I'm not really happy with the top side , it looks great but where my rollers hit it constant it wore and where the anchor rope got it !! but it really does shine great !! John
