Changing my post title. I know the same questions over and over get old. I removed the stabilization module and set WOT Timing at 23 BTDC. My Selco book says my primary timing should be 11 ATDC. Is that correct? I'm having problems with cool to cold starting and engine loading at idle.

The idle timing in the link n sync is a starting point. That's what you adjust when you set idle timing on the water, and where ever it falls, that's what it is.

Poor idle could be anything ie weak spark, low compression, reeds, idle mix, float level, air leaks, fuel pump.....

you get the picture.

Once you get a good idle, bog at hole shot is usually throttle pickup adjustment.

I haven't seen one yet that's real happy about idling for long periods of time. Usually have to kick it into neutral and rap it once in awhile.

hope it helps
