First, is the fuel valve on? (if it has one) I would say it's a bad primer if the fuel line isn't clogged.

Re: Problem with Snowblower

Had a similar problem with mine last fall. The half ball push primer bulb had torn at the base and would not push fuel through. On my Troy Bilt, the bulb is mounted on a plastic base that pops off with a blade or screwdriver. As it comes off there is a small tube that is connected. That is what carries the "pressed" fuel to the carb. Disconnect that tube and you're ready to start looking for a replacement. Mine was ~ 9.00 after going to half dozen repair shops. They will want to know what make and size of engine.

99.9999999999999% of primer bulb issues stem from a bad seal or tear in the bulb itself (a $2 part). The other .00000000000001% of the time it is a bad hose or flared hose connection (leaking air) going from the primer bulb. I've never seen it be anything having to do with the carb, just so you can rule something out.

Re: Problem with Snowblower

so i brought the whole carb to the store with the primer.. everything was fine.. he asked where was the nut to hold the bulb on.. at home.. told me too look at it.. theres a tiny hole in the middle of it where the gas flows thru.. i get home and tried clearing it out with some wire.. nope.. got a pin and walaah its running.. .. got 20 bucks and a container of brownies.. i spent 4.66 on a fuel line and filter.
