Hi all, my original stringers where 12ft long, but I am having a hard time finding 12ft sheets of plywood in area. Can the stringers be made in two or more pieces? If so, what is the best method?
Thanks
This is not uncommon. You can use two layers of a thinner plywood to make the stringer and offset the joints. For example, you could use two layers of 1/2" plywood to make a 1" thick stringer and put one joint 4' from the end and the other joint 8' from the end.
You can laminate them with thickened epoxy (often referred to here as "peanut butter" or "PB") or PL Premium, which comes in tubes like caulk and is available at Home Depot or Lowes.
You may also be able to use thickened poly, but I'm not sure. I think a layer of CSM would only be required if you were using thin poly resin between the layers.
