had a cooling issue so i went to replace the water pump. so i got the parts but the guy that owned the boat before broke a bolt off in the gear housing that held the water pump housing on.......So to make a long story short i broke the damn gear housing cover trying to get the bolt out.......Just my luck. Does anyone know where i can go to get another cover or should i try to have the plate welded back together or should i just replace the whole damn lower unit? The last choice really isnt an option right now and i'm out of ideas here....Please someone help me with this... Thanks

update had the gear housing cover welded back together and cleaned it up.....replaced the water pump, impeller and gaskets. silicone sealer and put the lower unit back on the motor. Fired right up and was shooting water out the top because i removed the screw where i'm outting a telltale. had about a 5 foot stream at idle. Thanks to those that responded:)

Good job!

Just saw one of those plates for sale on E-Bay. Not sure if it will fit your motor though. It's brand new old stock.
