Hello, I am buying a 21ft boat that has this motor on it and wanted to know if there were any specific issues I should look out for and check?
I will not be able to do a seatrial, only hear it run on a hose.
Also does anyone know what type of fuel economy these motors get as well as the reliability?

Thank you in advance for any help!

Black max means it's painted black and is a honkin' engine. Doesn't even verify it's configuration, much less displacement.

If it's a v6, likely it's a 2.0l. They are pretty solid motors but need to be maintained, or can get expensive. It's pretty hard to tell their condition onthe muffs. If you could do a compression test, and it's good, anything else is pretty easy to fix.

hope it helps

Yep it's black.

Compression 120 ish. even is most important. If one is lower than the rest by more than 10%, it's trouble, major mechanical.

Thanks again.
Any idea what the fuel consumption is on these motors?
I only have a 40 gallon tank.
