I have a Seloc and a Clymer. I prefer the Clymer. It's better organized and has clearer diagrams than the Seloc.

I've used Selocs for 18 years now. No complaints yet.:D

I've never had a Clymer but have had a few Seloc manuals in the past. If you are a beginner just starting out, doing maintenance and diagnosing issues with the motor then yes I'd recommend getting one.

You will find lots of info in there helpful. Also I liked the fact that they contained pages and pages of specs for the different models and HP sizes for the years they cover.

When you get into some more serious work like tear down and rebuilds then you will need to get a factory service manual for the specific motor.

Cheers

Ebay is the only place that I've seen the factory manuals. They also have the Seloc and Clymer manuals. You can usually get pretty good deals if you're patient.
