Does anyone know what year a mercury 90 brown band is? many thanx, slamfire

Brown band Mercs are from the early 80s. If you can get the serial # we can tell you exactly which year.

pictures will not help or tell us much about the motor. You need the ser. number for the year. Check compression and see if she has spark in all 6. Compression is the most important and can't be fixed unless you rebuild her. If spark is missing it can be fixed pretty easily if your handy. My 115hp brown band is a 1984.

You are missing a number from your s/n. Can you confirm it by the disc on the powerhead like this?
