Letterman or Leno?

On one channel I'm laughing......the other.....nothing...

I'm hot and cold on the Late Show hour. Sometimes I might watch for a week straight then not for 5 months or a year or two.

I posted this last night as I was watching Letterman, then Leno thinking "do these guys actually pull in ratings?" Then I was thinking there is some kind of social experiment here, the flavour of humour is very different.

The humour itself is kind of odd, not really laughable, more smirk-chuckle at best.

Of course Marlboro, Jon Steward isn't in the same league in my opinion either.

Just pondering about these two Late Night Giants.

....then there's Saturday Night Life...to me it feels like the same kind of awkward humour...how do these stay going?

I'm not a huge TV watcher, but lately I've been studying late night so it's been on more than usual.

I didn't vote because I flip channels between the two when I watch. Usually get at least one laugh

Agree with Tashasdaddy .Not up late enough to watch them. But from seeing some reruns I like Lettermans top 10 list.

I voted Leno but I still prefer Johnny Carson.

If I make it to that hour I watch Letterman,but 99% of the time I either watch ESPN or the back of my eyelids

Ditto. Used to be worth staying up for to catch the opening monologue. Thankfully, cable (and satellite) is providing a great deal of better choices.

5% hilarious - 95% lame.

Personally, I find sleep to be of more value.
